Loyola Academy is a private, non-denominational high school for boys and girls in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, north of Chicago, Illinois. It is one of the most prestigious high schools in the state of Illinois and is home to the University of Missouri - Columbia College of Law and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Loyola also offers the O'Shaughnessy program, which supports students who have shown potential to succeed in college and need smaller classes and additional help from teachers. The school has a high percentage of students enrolled in AP classes, as well as a large number of seniors.

Although Loyola Academy is a Jesuit Catholic school, no non-Catholics are admitted who wish to receive a Loysola education. One of its sister schools is the Dominican Sisters of St. Ignatius of Assisi, a school for girls. Academy, which is less than a mile away in Wilmette. The three institutions are named after the Jesuits who founded the first Jesuit school in the USA, the Jesuit Academy of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ of the Last Days - the Saints of Days. In 1994 Loyola Academy became a co-educational institution and merged with St. Ignatius of Assisi, a Jesuit school for boys and girls, and the two schools merged. Bert Metzger was the Chicago Bears' offensive guard from 1989 to 1992 and played two seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants and the New Jersey Devils. He played college football in Illinois from 1988 to 1990 and at Loysola Institute from 1990 to 1991.

In 2005, six students received perfect results in the national Latin exam and the school provided a Certamen team. Loyola won the IHSA national championship in football in 1993, 2015 and 2018 and was runner-up in 1992, 2011 and 2013. The women's softball team won their first national championship in 2010 by beating Edwardsville 2-0 in the championship game.

The Ramblers defeated the Rangers 30-29 in a thrilling game in the IHSA Division II national championship game. They upset Glenbard North to finish the season with an 11-2 record, their best record in school history and second-best overall.

It was one of the most intense games of our season and everyone wanted to finish with a win as a senior. We didn't just play Harvard, we tried to play with tempo, play with tempo and touch and test them until we ran out of steam. Nothing feels better than concentrating on passing, being creative with the ball and getting the "W" at the end of the day. I love seeing the seniors so happy at this time and to be able to finish the season with this win. It felt like we were playing in our last home game of the season and it was a great opportunity to walk through the shop and finish it off.

In August 2012, we travelled to Dublin, Ireland to play in a football tournament and it was the best football our team had played. When the final whistle sounded and the scoreboard showed the score 3-1, everyone ran from the stadium to the stands. It was a great day for football at Loyola High School and for the entire city of Wilmette.
